Topographies explores the shifting relationship between form, texture, and surface. In this still-evolving series, wheel-thrown pieces are manually altered and sculpted, allowing geometry to emerge as an integral, three-dimensional element rather than a painted layer. Layers of brushstrokes and glazes interact with textured surfaces, both enhancing and disrupting them. While functional, these pieces are not confined by utility—forms become abstract and expressive, blurring the boundaries between vessel and sculpture, control and spontaneity.
