Jasmin Wennersbusch (b. 1990, Germany) is a ceramic artist based in Tel Aviv. She is a graduate of the Diploma Studies Program at the Benyamini School of Ceramic Art and a recipient of the First Studio Scholarship for 2024-25 at the Benyamini Center for Contemporary Ceramics. Alongside her artistic career, Jasmin holds degrees in international law from the Universities of Cambridge and Düsseldorf and is completing her PhD at Tel Aviv University.
Jasmin’s work explores themes of belonging, identity, and transformation, often reflecting her experience as an expatriate adapting to new cultures. Her practice centers on the balance between movement and stability, interior and exterior, which she realizes through the combination of traditional and experimental techniques. Using both the pottery wheel and hand-building methods as starting points, she creates forms that are later altered, deconstructed, and reassembled, blending ceramic and non-ceramic materials.
Inspired by the timeless traditions of ceramic craftsmanship, Jasmin seeks to reimagine its contemporary relevance as a medium for self-expression and dialogue with other art forms. Her work challenges the margins of clay, blurring its boundaries to explore new material and conceptual possibilities. Through her art, Jasmin invites viewers to reflect on the connections between tradition and innovation, permanence and change, and the evolving meanings of form and function.
